About Morphit

The whole game is one question asked over and over: what shape are you right now, and is it the right one for what is arriving? Morphit strips arcade play down to that single decision and then keeps accelerating it. Nothing to aim, no resource to manage, no map to learn. Just obstacles that each let you through in one form only, and a reaction window that narrows the longer you last.

How to play

Obstacles come at you continuously and you change form to match each one before it reaches you. That is the loop, and it stays the loop; difficulty comes from pace rather than new rules. The early mistake almost everyone makes is reacting to the nearest obstacle instead of the one behind it. By the time the closest shape is comfortable to read, the time you needed to switch has gone.

Tips

  • Keep your eyes ahead of your character rather than on it. Read the incoming order, then execute, instead of deciding at the last moment.
  • Morph early and hold the form. An early switch costs nothing when the shape is right, while a late one leaves no room to fix a misread.
  • After a near miss, resist the urge to speed up and make it back. Back-to-back deaths here come from the panicked correction more often than the original slip.

Who it's for

A run lasts seconds to a couple of minutes, a natural filler for a queue or a bus ride, and it works in portrait on a phone. Reflex-heavy but never complicated. Gelatino asks for similar precision with a resource layered on top, and Parmesan Partisan is the slower, more tactical desktop option.
