2048

About 2048

Four directions, one grid, and a single goal — 2048 remains the purest version of the merge puzzle. Slide matching tiles together to double them, climb from 2s toward the 2048 tile, and watch the compact board fill a little more with every move you make.

How to play

Every swipe shifts all tiles at once, merging equal neighbors as they collide, and each move spawns a new tile that eats space. The game ends when no merge is possible. The classic beginner mistake is swiping in all four directions freely — that scatters your big tiles across the grid and locks the board early.

Tips

  • Pick a corner for your largest tile and never move it; build descending values beside it.
  • Restrict yourself to three directions as much as possible, using the fourth only when forced.
  • Think one merge chain ahead — a good move sets up the next merge, not just the current one.

Who it's for

Anyone who likes a two-minute brain teaser that quietly becomes a twenty-minute obsession, and it plays perfectly on a phone with swipes. When the grid feels mastered, Get 10 offers a different number-merging angle, and Heart Calcopus keeps the math playful.
