About Perimeter - Legate Edition

Terraforming is set dressing in most strategy games. Here it is the job. Before you can hold ground in Perimeter - Legate Edition you reshape it, turning raw terrain into territory you can build on and ring with defenses. You command the Exodus civilization, and the map is not a fixed board — both sides are rewriting it while they fight.

How to play

The cycle is claim, terraform, fortify, then expand from a position you can actually hold. Newcomers play it like a standard base builder, pushing outward fast and skipping the groundwork, then discover that unprepared territory is territory they cannot defend. Spend the opening minutes on the ground itself.

Tips

  • Expand along a line you can defend. A border that bulges in three directions costs more to hold than the ground inside it is worth.
  • Read the terrain your opponent is changing, not just where their forces are. Reshaped ground tells you where the next push is coming from.
  • Consolidate before you advance. In a game built on holding territory, a smaller secure area beats a larger one with gaps in it.

Who it's for

This is heavier than most browser strategy — settle in for a long sitting rather than a quick one, and expect to lose the first few maps while you learn what terraforming actually buys you. It assumes you already know how a real-time strategy game works. Mouse and a full-size screen only; a phone will not do. For army command with none of the setup, Stickman Simulator Final Battle puts you straight into the fight, and Parmesan Partisan covers the hold-your-ground urge in arcade form.
