About The Room

There's a single thing you're protecting in The Room, and everything else follows from that. It's a 2D pixel-art shooter built around defending the heart of your domain from waves that keep getting heavier, so your real score isn't kills — it's how long the thing behind you stays intact. You can never chase an enemy far enough to leave it open.

How to play

Waves arrive, you shoot them down, and the next wave arrives with more of them. The controls are simple enough to pick up immediately, which means the difficulty sits entirely in positioning and target priority rather than in the control scheme. New players almost always over-commit, pushing forward after a straggler and turning around to find the far side wide open.

Tips

  • Hold the middle ground. Standing on top of what you're defending gives you no reaction time; standing at the edge gives enemies a free run at it.
  • Kill whatever is closest to the objective first, even when a bigger target is more tempting. Damage prevented counts the same as damage dealt.
  • Use the quiet second after a wave clears to reposition toward where the next group enters, instead of standing where you finished.

Who it's for

Runs are short, so a natural session is a few attempts at beating your best wave. It rewards attention more than raw reflexes, which makes it approachable if you're not a regular shooter player. Keyboard and mouse suit it best; this one is desktop territory. Funny Shooter 2 is the loud, roaming counterpart if you'd rather go to the enemies, while Parmesan Partisan runs the same defend-your-ground idea with rats and a shotgun.
